Why I Chose to Rebrand to Dan Gard Photo.

Daniel Gardiner

Hi,

Today, I want to share a bit about why I decided to transition from Twisty and TwistyImages.com to a brand that feels more personal and professional: Dan Gard Photo.

Back at university, inspired by iconic photographers like Platon, Perou, and Rankin, I aimed to create something that would stand out. This led to the birth of TwistyImages.com. It worked to some degree, setting me apart, but as the importance of SEO grew over the years, I started facing significant challenges.

With Dan Gard Photo, the connection to my personal and professional identity is clearer, making it easier to leverage SEO with keywords directly related to my work—like photography, portrait and London. This alignment helps improve my organic reach and growth online, which is crucial in today’s digital landscape.

The idea of rebranding had been floating in my mind for a few years, held back by various factors until a nudge from Squarespace about updating my outdated website platform. The upgrade process was cumbersome, with a slow and clunky builder that did not meet my needs. That experience pushed me to finally make the change.

I chose Wix as my new platform because it offers the flexibility and dynamism I need to showcase my work in portrait photography effectively and engage with my audience in London and beyond. Although my website isn’t fully complete yet, I’m optimistic about the potential it holds and confident that this new foundation will lead to increased traffic and engagement.

This transition to Dan Gard Photo feels right, and I’m excited about the future. I’m looking forward to seeing how this new direction will foster growth in portrait photography and I’m keen to bring all of you along on this journey.

I’d love to hear if any of you have gone through a similar experience or are contemplating a rebranding in the photography industry. Your stories and insights are invaluable. Feel free to drop a comment below, send an email, or connect through social media. Let’s keep the conversation going and support each other in our respective journeys.

All the best,

Daniel
